Dao Heng Launches Innovative New Model
for Home Mortgage & Insurance Business

"ec-home" - total home solution
offers unique value-added benefits

(Hong Kong, November 29, 2000) Dao Heng Bank (DHB) today announces the launch of its total home solution - "ec-home" (www.daohengec-home.com). Unique in the market, ec-home is not just another website offering basic financial transactions, but a fully integrated total home solution incorporating Home Financing mortgage services, Home Protection insurance services and Home Living direct sales services into one convenient easy-to-use value chain.

Announcing the introduction of ec-home, Mr Paul Wong, General Manager, Mortgage Banking, of DHB said, "DHB offers an unparalleled number of value-added services. These services, including a Cash-back Service Pledge for home mortgage customers and a 100% Cash Points Rebate to Travel Insurance customers for purchase of selected merchandise through the Dao Heng Direct Club, are unprecedented in the local market."

Mr Wong continued, "Our objective is to create a new business model to deliver added value to our customers at every step. Providing reliable, convenient and highly efficient services to satisfy consumers' needs in the Internet Age is, of course, at the heart of our business. For maximum convenience, ec-home gives customers the option of obtaining home mortgages and personal insurance either online or by telephone, at highly competitive rates.

To underline its confidence in the efficiency of its direct mortgage service, Dao Heng Bank provides a Cash-back Service Pledge for mortgage obtained through its direct channels. This initiative, a first in the Hong Kong banking industry, guarantees formal loan approval within 24 hours and drawdown within 7 days. DHB's failure to achieve either of these targets will result in a rebate of HK$3,000 to the customer .

Dao Heng's Mortgage, Travel and Domestic Helper Insurance customers will be enrolled automatically in the Dao Heng Direct Club. Club members are entitled to excellent prices on major brands of household merchandise and the services of leading travel agencies. New members will receive a special welcome bonus of 500 Direct Club Cash Points. To bring even more value to members, purchasers of Travel Insurance will enjoy an unprecedented dollar-for-dollar 100% Cash Points Rebate on their premium for spending at the Direct Club, as well as a free medical kit for travellers provided by professional medical practitioners.
