Section 2 How can I get started on DBS iBanking?

Q1:
How can I register for DBS iBanking?
A1:

If you are a DBS consumer banking customer, you can register for DBS iBanking in the following ways:

(a)
Application online
You can register for DBS iBanking online. All you need are either your ATM card number, credit card number or Cashline card number, and its ATM PIN. Start your application now by going to our website, clicking on "Logon to iBanking" and then "Register for iBanking now". Once you have completed your application, you can start using DBS iBanking. You may refer to here for more details about online application of DBS iBanking.

(b)
Application at DBS ATMs (not applicable to customers who only possess DBS credit cards and/or Cashline cards)
You may also apply at DBS ATMs. Simply insert your DBS ATM card, enter your ATM PIN, choose "other" and then "iBanking registration". You will be asked to key in an iBanking Password of your choice. Your iBanking Username, which is generated by the system, will be printed on the customer advice upon completion of your application. Please keep the customer advice for your reference as you will need the Username printed on it to log on to DBS iBanking for the first time.

Application at DBS Branches
You may also apply in person by visiting any of our branches in Hong Kong and filling in the DBS iBanking Application Form. An initial username will be issued to you at the branch; Once we have sent you an SMS* confirming that your DBS iBanking account is ready for activation, you can use the initial username to commence the activation process by clicking the ‘Click to activate now’ button on the DBS iBanking logon page at our website, during which time, we will send an activation code to your registered mobile phone number for completion of the process.

*The SMS notification will normally be sent to you within 2-3 business days after you have collected your initial username.

Important Note:
  • If your ATM card is a joint-named ATM card, please register for DBS iBanking by visiting any of our branches in Hong Kong and filling in the DBS iBanking Application Form.
  • You must complete the OTP registration in order to be able to enjoy the full functions of DBS iBanking services.

Q2:
How soon will I be able to use DBS iBanking after my application?
A2:

If you applied online, you can instantly log on to DBS iBanking using the Username and the Password provided during the registration.
 
If you applied through the DBS ATM, you can get immediate access to iBanking by entering the system-generated iBanking Username on your customer advice, and the iBanking Password you provided during the application.

If you applied through the DBS branch, your initial username will be given at the time of application; Once we have sent you an SMS* confirming that your DBS iBanking account is ready for activation, you can use the initial username to commence the activation process by clicking the ‘Click to activate now’ button on the DBS iBanking logon page at our website, during which time, we will send an activation code to your registered mobile phone number for completion of the process.

*The SMS notification will normally be sent to you within 2-3 business days after you have collected your initial username.,

Q3:
Can I register for DBS iBanking without having a DBS account?
A3:
No. You must have a valid account with DBS in Hong Kong before you can register for DBS iBanking.  However, you do not need to register for DBS iBanking if you want to register for DBS Treasures and DBS accounts, Credit Card, Personal Loan and Insurance Services online.

Q4:
Can I manage my single named or joint named accounts through DBS iBanking?
A4:

Every time you open a single named account, it is automatically added to your iBanking profile, allowing you to manage it easily through DBS iBanking.
                       
For the joint named accounts that do not require joint signatures, you can also manage them through DBS iBanking. Please note that joint named accounts that require joint signatures cannot be managed through DBS iBanking at the moment.

If your joint deposit accounts and investment accounts (excluding securities accounts and investment fund accounts) that do not require joint signatures, they are automatically added to DBS iBanking profiles. To add on other joint named accounts to your iBanking profile, please download and submit the DBS iBanking Application Form to us.

Q5:
Can I have an option of temporarily suspending my iBanking services, and resuming it at a later date?
A5:
Yes, you can choose to temporarily suspend your iBanking services by downloading and submitting the DBS iBanking Service Request Form to us. You may also resume your services thereafter by submitting the DBS iBanking Service Request Form.
